The Neighbourhood Effect makes it convenient, financially rewarding, fun and social for Australians to reduce their personal carbon footprints. Our behavioural science design helps users adopt environmentally-sustainable habits and connect to local, climate-friendly products, services and community initiatives. Our mission is to demonstrate that it is achievable and affordable for Australians to reduce their carbon emissions en masse, and to strengthen our communities and our wellbeing in the process.
The Neighbourhood Effect is the winner of the 2017 Allens Social Innovation competition, and a national finalist and runner-up (Sydney) in the 2017 Climate Launchpad competition for innovative solutions to climate change. The Neighbourhood Effect is also the recipient of a $25,000 ACT Community Zero Emissions grant, and will launch a version of its mobile app for ACT residents in 2018.
