Rather than investing cash in a startup, our venture fund (BlueChilli Capital) invests in the tech and marketing required to get a business off the ground. Our team identifies the minimum tech required plus branding and marketing to launch a business, we call this scope the Minimum Viable Product PLUS (MVP+). We provide on-going technical support at cost to our investments ensuring they have the best technical resources at hand to support their business and we incubate them in our Sydney and Melbourne incubators.
Through Venture Technology, BlueChilli successfully mitigates the four key risk areas in early stage business investment; Mitigating the development risk through a streamlined framework called ChilliSourceā¢; mitigating the risk in the idea via a 100:1 investment selection process; mitigating the risk in the founder through the education accelerator and incubator; mitigating the risk in capital through our angel network; and mitigating the risk in the marketplace through strategic relationships with distribution channels.
